ArtScience Residencies 2017-2018


Port Chalmers Artscience residency (March-September 2018)
ArtScience themed research. Projects have included building a cantenna wifi
receiver on the roof, discarded tin and copper,
painting circuitry symbols on canvas, playing with broken radios,
learning morsecode and seeing what can be done with this redundant language,
re-working maps collected during a decade of travel, experiments with macro lens and microcircuits
and buildinga series of sequencers, synthersizers and morsecode emulators.Media: Embeded technologies,
paint, video documentary, sound,electronic synthesis, arduino, STM32 ARM processors, Morse code keys -metalwork,
soldering, painting, sketches, documented on instagram each day. Process,
laboratory work, workshop space, maker space. Far south of New Zealand.
Cold antartic winds.
London Hackspace Artscience residency 2017 (August to September).
Projects and interests included - building and designing 'the bingo splicer':
a 7 channel audio splicer and abstract rhythm generator.
Learning about high voltage gizmos - Lazercutting, CRC etc.
Hamilton Artscience residency 2017 (January to July)
Waikato University Artscience residency November 2015 to December 2016
