El Syndicto Mexicano de Electroistas
A group of Electricians who had began to sense that there was something strange within this invisible force which we allow to power our vehicles, appliances, and objects and Light. Whether or not increased exposure to the force within the wires had built some kind of sympathetic bridge between the electricians and the unknown, they had in common the fact that they had all felt the obscure power of the invisible force and it had perhaps awoken in them an ancient memory of magic, alchemy and mystery. Whatever the reason, they had decided to experiment further and set up aspecific area in Mexico City known as ´El Syndicto Mexicano de Electroistas . The motivation for all four groups of specialists to move away into the unknown and abandon their fields was the fact that existing human culture had come to an end and revitilisation was essential as the negation of all known pathways. This dual action of negation and movement created the forms within which a new work could be achieved.
Some said the true message was – look for the spaces between- look between the structures we have created or have been created for us. One of the criticisms of this philosophy was that new form created between older existing structures did not really focus on the space between. This was criticism seen in retrospect as these new structures grew from the exploration of the unknown and were simply signposts or dropping even left behind after the original force had left- onwards to new divisions of nothingness.
But this journey into the unknown could not be followed when created by NANA SHE-MAN-IC a character created specifically for investigation into the depths of non-structural knowledge. Built to withstand zero comprehension confusion was not a state of mind but a way of life. NANA SHE-MA-IC held the capacity to move in erratically fluid directions leaving no trace of understanding, no new recognizable structures within which to dwell, no more divisions of nothingness, a blank slate with no chalk, emptiness erased to its core with NANAs crazed dance between forms unrecognizable, invisible even.
Like the strange powers within the wires which serve all but are unknown, mysterious and uncertain in their source. The Syndical of electricians sensed this connectedness and when NANA SHE-MAN-IC danced her dance of kaos it was as if the electrical forces generated within her body broadcast a spasmodic morse code which defied all interpretation. The electricians decided to tap into this source by using body conductors connected to a predictive text mechanism translated the movements borne from deep possession into a oracular deity device which added a new connection between the structures of Interpretive Dance and Predictive text.
Once the current was reversed it was possible to achieve two way communication with these deities of possession as NaNa She-Man-Ic convulsed and twitched with electrical impulses as a hanged man, filled with Tarot significance, might dance on the end of his rope. The induced body movement, which at times seemed synchronous to the tap-tapping of the input typewriter were created by the scientific and logical questioning of the electricians requests . The resulting answers which came forth from the unknown source of the Oracle were translations of deeply chaotic movements passing through the various mechanisms and technologies to create a bridge between disparate worlds.
