CONTRACT KILLER.

I was called to the block at midday by a screaming tennent
they said something had been seen.. something was all I
could get out of the old broad before extreme maddness in-

-terveined and that was that. You see I know my job and
when we get the call like this one. .on that fine summers
afternoon so long ago. .theres no time for dissbellef. .actr

-ion must be taken ..action of an extreme kind.

At one thirty the same day the tower block was sealed
up. .the shouts from the tenents turned slowly from the cor-

-dial request to the screaming command, .a command that
was never to be followed up. .my guards hand picked had
their orders.

At three o/clock I had got my self up to the top of the 18
floors and was now taking a look around.

From that height everything takes on a new perspective.
I felt 1'ke a god looking down on the work'ngs of the mere
mortal, .the way they walked in a straight line. . .ttce block
was surrounded by a series of squares of grass, .each of tgh
these had been cut into two maybee four triangles as the
tenets walked back from the shops carry'ng their provisions.
This may have set my mind a thinking but enougth of this. .1
had a job to do. . .you see I'm a killer. . a contract k'ller.

Back down on the 4th floor where the sighting had been
the old woman was in a state of shock. .1 can understand how.

was in tigtic   the early days..not a single steel door on this
floor, .but would the end of the day see otherwise, .the purenes
cut by the sharp edge of steel. I had to get more information
out of her and theres only one way to do that with a person in
shock, .a nice warm cup of tea with plenty of sugar.

I got the broad and smashed her one with the china tea pot.
Poured hot tea over her head. .and proceeded with the questions
