A. .( breaking the silience with a cougth and then speaking to B)

(Both A&B&C stand dead cold and unmoved for 10 seconds)

( C breaks the silience with a cold sharp tap on the board)

( A&B look up attentively as if C will begin again.)

C replies with a series of sharp taps on the "truth" but makes

no sound, .with each tap A&B look up ready and in each gap

they look down or drift off into thoughts vague.

This continues for one minute.
C.. ( breaking the loop abruptly) " Is there any questions"

( Pure silience..)

C'.." is there any comments.. .NO? "

( Pure silience . .broken by B dripping the pot of jam from

their pocket, .it rolls across the stage..)
A. . ( talking slowly as if reading from a book) " White chalk on

black board.. ."
C. .( Angry but al'e'.o cur'ous) " What was that.? "

A.. ( still vague and reading) " Beware the consumer reaction"
C..( controling anger, .with authority. .) " What was that ? "
C. ." well . I'll leave you to pick the bones out.. so unt'l ne^

week. .goodbye"   END OF ACT ONE.

ACT TWO scene one.

The scene is the same as act one scene one..with the Kitchen
table arranged as before.. the armcha'r back to audience in the
far comer, .and the charactors A&B again interchangable sit at
the table.'

B . . ( in mid flow or so ity seems) . . " Yes .. its a shame i sn 't it
,. .the other day I found some cockroaches in the cornfakes pa-
-cket. .1 had just picked it up to shake it to see if there was
any left for my breakfast. .Keloggs it was. .1 like them f'rst
thing.very refreshing, .and I shook them put them down and the
packet kept on shaking. .1 threw them away. . "
A.. .( In dreamy tones ) " Yes they get everywhere don't they..
You know ..there are whole towerblocks full of them in East
London, .they shifted everyone out. .everyone that they could .
that is . .and sealed the whole place up. .its this new law. .it
cripples the council to do anything about them. .Sacred Beetles
indeed.. what ever will ..and the funny thing is nobody knows
whats left in these blocks.I heard all k'nds of stories, .bodies
of the tennents sealed behind doors. (Scar'd effects of russling
noises and doors slam.. screaming faint. .). .Like Egyptian
tombs they are. .the dry atmosphere has preserved the bodies. "
B. .9 (resuming A's tone as one person) " The heating left on. .
Terrible places they are . .18..19..23. .floors of sealed in
beetles and dead bodies, .all clamering for air.. (sound effects
get very echoing as in a church). . " )8 floors of solid roach
material.. (Screams get louder). .inhuman. ."
a. . " . .But best not to speak about the blessed foursome that
way. .they are a sacred spicies. . "
A. .( after long thoughtfull pause.) " What ever happened to
that spoon you had. .1 like that wooden spoon, .very comforting.
B.. (In complete disorientation) " A small x cafe just down the
road. .very reasonably priced and spotlessly claean. .or if you .

A. .( continuing tone previous to distract ons) " Fourfold the

( Sound effects fade out sudonly leaving a reverberation of
